Fujairah Statistics Center was first established by rule No (1) of 1997 under the name of 'Department of Statistics and Planning', issued by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah. In 2009 decree no (6) changed the Department of Statistics and Planning to 'Fujairah Statistics Center' and now has an independent legal personality and full legal capacity for business and legal transactions, and became responsible for the preparation of statistical system in the emirate and official source of statistics.

The Center Issues and distributes an Annual Statistical Book and an e-book on Fujairah Statistics, so far 24 statistical book have been issued and distributed to Local authorities, private sector, embassies and missions of UAE abroad.

The center conducts statistical surveys on the level of emirate, we provide a central database for collection, classification, storage and analysis to the definitions and standards. The center cooperates and exchanges information with the agencies and scientific institutions working in the field of statistics. We take account of the confidentiality and privacy of individuals in publication of the statistical data collected by the center
